We are pleased you have chosen a career at the City of Springfield! We would like to take this time to welcome you and help make your transition to the City of Springfield as simple as possible. We have created this page to guide you through the new employee orientation process.

   What to Bring

    Driver’s license and social security card to complete I-9 verification.
   Banking information including account number and routing number, and a voided check or bank deposit slip for direct deposit.
   If you intend to enroll any spouse/dependent(s) in health insurance, bring a copy of their social security card, along with all necessary supporting legal documentation, such as marriage license, civil union certificate, birth certificate if adding a child, and/or court order.

   Attire Guidelines

Attire is business casual, please be prepared to have your photo taken for your ID badge. Refrain from wearing gray, green, or light blue colored shirts.

Parking options for orientation day:

   Hoogland Center Public Parking located at 420 S 6th St, Springfield, IL 62701. See the map below for walking directions from the parking garage to Municipal Center West.

   Street parking around Municipal Center West is free, but you must abide by the time limits on parking signs.
