Medical Benefits

Quality health coverage is one of the most valuable benefits provided by the City of Springfield. The City offers two medical plan options designed to help protect the health and financial wellbeing of eligible employees and their families.

The City’s medical plans are self-funded and administered by Aetna. This means the City pays the cost of covered medical claims, while Aetna processes claims, provides customer service and maintains the medical provider network.

Current plan year: March 1, 2026 through February 28, 2027
Medical network: Aetna Choice® POS II Open Access
